I think you did a great job! Of course this is my first shot at blogging too, so what do I know!!
How did you get the saying on your blog? I like that! I would like to put one on mine.
I just put it into the blog description box. go to "customize", then "edit" in the header box. It should be right under blog title.
You may want to edit your blog for security reasons. You show a picture, tell people what state and town you live in, and give your last name. You would be very easy to find! Can you tell I'm a mom?!
Otherwise I thought you did a great job!

For your first attempt at blogging it looks like you have figured it out. I agree that if students are more interested in technology it is silly as a teacher to deny them of this. I also agree that the use of technology limits the room for excuses. Technology, in a way can make students more accountable for homework. The world is changing and as teachers it is important we as teachers adapt and change with it.
I like what you have done . This is my first time using a blog site too.I agree for security reason and personal identy theif you might want to edit some of your blog. The last thing you evet want is to have to reestablish yourself. This is a hard thing to do.
